Global IP Solutions Plans to Bring Video Chat to iPhone & Android
I remember several years ago, about a year before Apple announced the first gen iPhone, I was telling some friends about how in a few years' time we'd be able to do video chats on handheld devices like smartphones.
At the time, my friends were a little skeptical, but it seems a company called Global IP Solutions is trying to bring this a few steps closer to reality by introducing video chat technology which will be available to app developers for the iPhone as well as Android.
I know I can't wait to make my family and friends on the mainland even more jealous by doing a video chat from the beach. But how long will it take for Apple to get around to putting the camera on the right side so we can have a face-to-face chat without using a mirror? Maybe I'll need to wait until the iPad video comes out…
