Audio Lesson On Online Privacy When Using Twitter or Facebook

About a day ago, former actor in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Roots, Levar Burton accidentally sent out his personal cell phone number to over 1.6 MILLION people who “follow” him on Twitter.  Having well over a million and a half people who directly are following and reading what he says via Twitter was only the tip of the iceberg, since everything said publicly on any social networking site such as Twitter or Facebook is “indexed” by the search engine and can appear in the search results within moments.

And once it’s out there, it’s there forever.

You don’t have to be a big celebrity to have to be careful about what you post online; we all have to be careful about these things or you could face anything from the hassle of canceling and replacing your phone number (as happened with Burton) to something as serious as burglury of your home or identity theft.

In this new audio lesson I use Plain English to explain how what happened to Levar Burton relates to you, and give you some good advice that can help keep you safe and protect your privacy online.
