Computer Question – Does a Full Hard Drive Slow Down a Computer

“does having lots of things in your hard drive slow computers too?
my computer is really old, still Intel pentium 4 with 512mb of ram.
the bright side is that its 2.80ghz well its fast for the stuff i do ”
