I’ve been meaning to post this for a few days – as mentioned in a previous post on my site, I’ve brought my style of quick & easy, Plain English video lessons to help you learn how to use the iPhone.  Beginning with over 150 short step-by-step videos, you get iPhone basics, iPhone tips & more in a new easy iPhone Video Tips & Training App available now in the iOS App Store.

Whether you use an iPod Touch or an iPhone, I think you’ll find this is a quick & easy way to look up information on how to use your iPhone or iPod Touch is pretty handy.  The app is really a complete & comprehensive basic course on how to use the iPhone which will help very basic users, but people who’ve owned their iPhone for years have found it’s a great way to look up a quick iPhone tip or two.

I’ll be releasing a similar video training app for the iPad that teaches you how to use the tablet computer. That app is based on this one, so anyone looking for iPad training can get an idea of what to expect from the video above.

Just for fun, I thought I’d post this video I found on YouTube. It was made by a family who got an iPad for the 100 year old matriarch of the family, Virginia.

Virginia suffers from glaucoma and so has a lot of trouble seeing, but was happy to find she could use the iPad to read books more easily than she can with a traditional printed book, and she was able to start writing on it right away as well — two activities she loved that her eyesight had been making difficult for some time.

I’ve been thinking for some time now that I might branch out from just doing computer training to also start doing iPad training. Having gotten my hands on one of Apple’s new devices just yesterday, I decided to shoot a little test video to see how it might work.

Below you’ll find a quick iPad lesson on using the Photos app that comes on the iPad. This just gives you a quick overview of Photos and how easy it is to browse through and display photos on your iPad. Let me know what you think in the comments below — if I hear good feedback I may start posting new iPad training lessons regularly in the future. Please note that this is just a quick test shot done while holding the camera in one hand, so the footage is a little wobbly.

To improve compatibility so the site works for not just computers but mobile devices such as iPhones and iPads, I’ve added the video lesson two different ways. The first video player below should play on pretty much any laptop or desktop computer. The second is designed for iPhone & iPad, but should work on many computers and other devices too.

If you see the video player box below, watch the video lesson by using the first player. During playback you can click the square button in the lower right corner of the video to make it full screen:

Update: After some experimentation and hunting around, I found an articulated camera mount I could use to shoot iPad videos to produce more stable footage than I was able to achieve in the video above. I’ve posted the first couple of test lessons I recorded to a brand new site I just launched, with more easy video lessons for iPad coming soon.
